RSBS TV: 2009 NL East Preview
Produced, shot and edited by Atonal Studios.
Special thanks to Theo Roll.
Very special thanks to Youppi, the vaguely effeminate mascot of the late great Montreal Expos for giving hope to French Canadians worldwide… okay, maybe not worldwide, but you get the idea.

Go Expos! Oh and that “other” team from New York.

In this video Allen turns it around and questions Jeff’s sexual orientation. Very nice Allen.
Um.. the Expos gave us one great thing: Grady Sizemore. I personally love them for that.
Melissa

Loved it guys. I loved Jeff’s comment after Allen’s about the Braves: “I… don’t think they will”.
Elizabeth

I think the Braves will do better than most people think this year. Hard to argue with the Mets and Phils, though.
And yeah. If the Expos had held on to Sizemore, Cliff Lee, and Brandon Phillips, life would be different for the Nationals right now.

I love the Expos homage. Classic division in baseball marred by having to play outdoor in Miami.
I only have another few years to poke at the Florida/Miami Marlins before they take the field in their white and off-white retractable roof stadium.
Great analysis. I still think this division is going to have the Wild Card this year too.

Who are these Expos you speak of? Did they play in the WBC or in the Venezuelan summer league?
Tom

Julia — There’s baseball in New York?
Melissa — We’re all about equal opportunity, especially when grilling one another’s sexual orientation.
Elizabeth — I still don’t think they will
Jason — Not only those guys, but Pedro Martinez, Larry Walker, John Wettleand, they had some team back in the early 90s.
RR — It’s amazing what can happen when you find a cheap Expos throwback jersey on Ebay. My eyes just lit up.
Tom — Actually, they did play some of there home games in Puerto Rico before they became the Nasty Nats. Remember that? So weird. No one wanted them.
–Jeff
Please don’t give the wild card to the East, I have my heart set on it for the Central.

I hope the Marlins’ goal this season is to destroy the Phillies hopes this year, instead of the the beloved New York team. Like I said, “I hope.” Good choice guys! Let’s Go Mets baby…
- Donnie

Kathy — I hope your desire becomes truth. Sad part is, how can we even compete? I hope I’m surprised.
Donnie — I’d like that too. Shall we cross our fingers? Probably the best we can do.
–Jeff
Now that Gary Sheffield is available, maybe the Nats will go after him. He’d fit right in with Elijah Dukes, Lastings Milledge and Scott Olsen. That lineup should bring them straight to the top of the division!

Only if the division includes prison teams, Erin
–Jeff
I like your choice of the Mets. Another Subway Series would suit me just fine. (I know. I’m just assuming….)
By “assuming” do you mean “smoking pot”, Jane?
Both the Mets and the Yanks are gonna fall short of the glory of the WS this year… again.
–Jeff
Haha, “Larry Walker…Pedro Martinez…” I think the Marlins will compete this year.

Boo Mets! If I vote your jersey is not gay, will you root for the Phillies? Ha, ha!
Jenn
http://philliesphollowers.mlblogs.com/
William — They might… but not really. In the end it’s NY and Philly I say.
Jenn — Okay, you drive a hard bargain. Go Phils!
–Jeff
WHO’S AFRAID OF THE BIG BAD WOLF?
Anyway, my NL East vote goes for the Metsies… I say they lose in the WS, lol.

Holy cow, the Kid from New York lives. We thought you went underground. Nice to see you back. Keepin’ it real.
–Jeff
The METS, are “chokers”, THE PHILLIES, again are the team to beat.
the Mets have had the advantage of having lig leads in August the last two years, this year the Phillies might lead the east by ten games on August first.
Then lets see if the Mets can catch them.
So it’s fun to look back at predictions so:
In review… the Mets are being nothing more than wannabe Yankees and now there whinning about injuries… but at least you mentioned the Phillies…sounds like hatred runs deep for the Phillies…it’ll be a hard for if they win it all again…well I can hope right…
