A Magical Mystery Tour (Part II)

Magical_Mystery_Tour.jpgAlthough I am now well aware that Jeff has misplaced himself under a bus somewhere, I also realize that part of the reason for him being under that bus was my absence over the past couple weeks. What can I say? Sometimes a man needs a little vacation and sometimes that vacation comes sans wi-fi. However, having acknowledged that, I think I’ll use this opportunity to pile on a little more.

So, without further ado, come along with me on a frightening and bizarre voyage to the fantasy lands that exist only in the mind of one Jeffery Lung.

Pujols-ville:

Only in the dark recesses of the mind of my good friend and colleague could this:

albert pujols.jpg
equate to this:

stokke_cal.jpgApples and oranges, my friend. Seriously, man, what are you thinking? Sure Albert is a great player, possibly the best in the game today. I’m not arguing with that. And I also understand that there are some good looking men out there and more and more often, other men are admitting that they are attracted to them. But this guy? Nope, I just don’t see it.

“The Cardinals Still Would Have Won the 2006 Series Without Tigers’ Pitchers’ Errors”-stan:

zumaya_error.jpgI respect the Cardinals. I really do. As I’ve stated before, they have a great tradition and some of the best players to have ever played the game came out of there. And there have been a couple times where they straight up beat the pants off of the Tigers and I don’t begrudge them that.

But the fact of the matter is that those errors by the Tigers’ pitchers set a tone for the entire Series and the Cardinals were able to turn these miscues into runs that ultimately won them the championship. That’s the long and the short of it.

To steal one of your favorite lines, Mr. Lung:
Don’t hate me because of my inability to fantasize about Albert Pujols in a kiddie pool full of tapioca pudding. Hate me ‘cuz I’m right.

Thank you Al. I was eating my breakfast while reading your blog and then I go to the line about the kiddie pool…..I don’t think I’m hungry any more. Want half a bagel with cream cheese? And you know – I USE to like tapioca pudding……

Just when the image of Allison’s hot youn…er…”impressive physique” had retreated to the recesses of my span…er…”colorful imagination”, RSBS ushers her back into the spotlight.
I’ll be in my bunk.

I always suspected that Jeff lived in Pujols-ville, but this post confirmed it. Seriously, Jeff, maybe Albert has an extra room in his house and you can move in. If he’s such a good guy, he’ll say yes in a heartbeat.

He won’t return my phone calls… emails… or home invasions.

Welcome back, Allen, we missed you! RSBS is at its best when you two are taking shots at each other from across the baseball aisle. It’s like our very own McLaughlin Group, in blog form. I didn’t get a chance to comment on it earlier, but nice tribute to Ted Kennedy, btw. A man who stands firmly to his principles is a rare thing in congress, and he will be missed.

I have to say having a glimpse into the mind of Mr. Lung, just tells me that any thought that may come to mind regarding either of those pictures has to be illegal in some states if not most (except San Francisco where everything is legal) which probably explains why Barry Bonds played there, but I digress, back to A. ..jols and the Tigers pitching… Jeff you have to accept that the Cards would never have won if the other team didn’t SUCK!!!

Well they did SUCK and the Cards did WIN so all is well in Pujols-ville and Bla-bla-bla-errors-stan! Yeah-bo!

I’m glad I decided to put down the Diet Coke before reading the kiddie pool line. Otherwise you’d owe me a new keyboard. :) I think Jeff is the only person I know who could fantasize about Pujols in a kiddie pool of tapioca pudding. And I know quite a few people who are practically in love with or have a man-crush on Albert.
