Awaiting One’s Praise
Relax. Breathe easy. Enjoy this, fellow Yankee haters: Cliff Lee and the Phillies have given us another precious day of hearing “twenty-six rings” over the inevitable “twenty-seven”. And remember, God made a “firmament” in just one day. Think of what we can do with ours!
Because let’s face it, whether it happens on Wednesday or it happens next year, the year after that or whenever (it’s gonna happen in your lifetime), the Yankees are going to get their twenty-seventh ring. That’s fine. I’m okay with that. The franchise more than deserves it. You see, if you spend a billion dollars on something, it will work. Ask our government. And if I spent a billion dollars on something in just 9 years I’d expect that something to at least win me a trophy of some kind, or get a bill named after me, or land me a free room at Holiday Inn Express (they still make me pay there).
The point is: the Yankees will win… sometime… eventually…
…probably.
Until then, A-Rod, Party Boy, Mo and Tex… you will have to wait patiently for this hater (me) to shower you with praise.
Speaking of people who want to shower me, I believe Mr. Krause lost the World Series of Metaphors and owes the winner (also known as Me) a meritorious essay on the topic of why I am awesome.
Can’t wait!
Hate me ‘cuz I flash a flair of fetidness, just don’t hate me ‘cuz I’m right.
Peace,
Jeff

Yeah, I’m not holding my breath on the Allen thing, given his previous RSBS lackluster piper payment: a tax-payer funded Xerox of the Cardinals logo taped to a Natinals cap. I couldn’t have come up with a better metaphor for the healthcare “reform” DC is trying to sell us if I tried.

Jonestein — Thanks for pointing out my colleague half-a$sed schemes. They are a plenty. And annoying.

Personally I can’t believe anyone would enter into a deal they obviously couldn’t win, this deal was almost as one-sided as the Browns playing Monday night football in front of a national audience with the expectation of not being humiliated….OH! wait that’s next Monday..

Now THAT’S what I’M TALKIN’ ABOUT, PETER! YES!

Jeff,
I thought for sure you might comment on the media cluster**** from our friends at the “Philadelphia Inquirer”. Funny how a simple advertisiment for “World Series Championship” T-shirts bearing a Phillies symbol can come out in print even before Game 6 of the series.
Make you think they might be co-owned by the “Enquirer” that other fishwrap of questionable values at times.
But then this is also the paper that turned a simple blog posting into a steroid battle of the ages earlier this year.
But I guess this too was the blogs fault. We always get blamed when Corporate America’s media machine grinds to a standstill.
Thank god we still have TMZ to give us the truth, and the video.

RR — I feel ya. Sometimes all I wanna do is crawl into bed and watch some TMZ (that is a lie, but a funny one).
